An informal one-day event to discuss the use of WordPress at the heart of UK government: what's already happening, what could we do next, and how could we make it easier / better?

Over the past few years, WordPress has become the 'favourite other web publishing system' for a number of central government departments. It's the expected choice for small-scale site development, and several departments - from the Wales Office to 10 Downing Street - have built their main web presences on it.

With WordPress maturing, departmental budgets tightening and Ministerial demands increasing, now's a good time to share ideas and experiences.

• What lessons have you learned from previous WordPress-based projects - good and bad?
• What magic is hidden behind your site's admin login?
• What exciting things are you working on at the moment? (World premieres welcome!)
• How are you hosting / securing / managing your WordPress setups?
• What could we do, collectively, to move things forward?

Like the annual UKGovCamp, we'll be bringing together civil servants with the extended family of developers who know government work best, and asking for volunteers to give short 20-25 minute presentations / demonstrations. If you have a story to tell, please let us know, and we'll add you to the draft agenda. (The more civil servants we have presenting, the better.)

We'll also have a couple of specially invited guests to talk in detail about specific WordPress topics: details to follow.

There will be no cost for attending: and lunch will be provided. But no more than three attendees per government department, please, to ensure all departments are able to participate.
